Key lessons, guidance and directions from the GRAIL project

The excerpt below highlights core insights and recommendations from Funding by Algorithm: A handbook for responsible uses of AI and machine learning by research funders, developed through RoRI’s GRAIL project in collaboration with 13 research funding organisations across three continents.

It distills key learnings from funders at different stages of exploring and applying AI and machine learning (AI/ML) in their operations, and offers practical guidance for:

  • Achieving more effective, ethical and responsible AI applications
  • Identifying next steps in experimentation and capacity building
